This policy explains what TurnitinGo collects, why, who it is shared with, and how long it is kept. Contact support@turnitingo.com with any question or request.
What we collect
- Account data: name, email address, password hash, sign-in sessions (device and IP address), and your preferences.
- Documents you upload and the reports produced for them.
- Billing records: orders, amounts, currency and the payment processor’s transaction reference. We never receive or store full card details.
- Support conversations and notifications sent to you.
- Operational logs needed to keep the service secure and working, with secrets redacted.
Why we use it
To provide the service you ask for (processing documents and delivering reports), to take payment, to prevent fraud and abuse, to answer support requests, and to meet legal obligations such as tax record-keeping. We do not sell personal data and we do not use your documents to train models.
Who we share it with
- Our analysis provider receives each document you submit, solely to produce the reports you ordered.
- Payment processors (such as Stripe or Razorpay) process your payment on their own hosted pages under their privacy policies.
- Email and hosting providers that operate infrastructure on our behalf.
- Authorities, where the law requires it.
Retention: 48 hours for you, permanent deletion within 96 hours
You can download each uploaded document for 48 hours after upload, and each report for 48 hours after it becomes available. Every file in your dashboard shows its exact expiry time. After that, the files stay encrypted on our servers for a limited support window, during which only authorised staff can open them (for example to investigate a complaint or correct a report). The original document, both reports and every stored copy are then permanently deleted, at most 96 hours after upload or report availability. We keep minimal records about each submission (file name, size, status and timestamps) so that billing, support and our audit trail remain accurate.
Important: deleting our copies does not delete copies held by the analysis provider. The provider’s own retention and storage terms apply to what it receives; we will name the provider and summarise those terms here before the service processes real documents.
Account data is kept while your account is open. Billing records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires, even after account deletion.
Cookies and local storage
We use one essential session cookie to keep you signed in, and your browser’s local storage to remember display choices such as theme and currency. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Security
Documents and reports are encrypted at rest. They are accessible to your account and, when support requires it, to authorised staff who have been granted file access and use two-step verification. Every time staff open, download, replace or delete a file it is recorded in our audit log. Connections use HTTPS.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can delete your account from Settings at any time; documents and reports are removed immediately. To make another request, email us. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
International transfers
Our servers and providers may be located outside your country. Where required, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards.
Children
The service is not directed to children under 16. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
We will post changes on this page and update the date above. Significant changes will be announced by email.
