For researchers

Review a thesis, journal manuscript or grant proposal against published and web sources before it goes to a committee, a journal or a funder.

When it helps

Reading your two reports

AI Detection Report

  • Read the result as one signal among several, alongside your drafts and version history.
  • Journals and funders publish their own policies on AI-assisted writing. Check the one you are submitting to.
  • Keep a record of any AI assistance you used, in case you are asked to disclose it.

Similarity Report

  • Expect matches in methods sections, standard phrasing and your reference list.
  • Overlap with your own published work still counts. Cite it or rewrite the passage.
  • Check that long quotations are marked and that reused figure captions and table notes are attributed.

Before you send it

  1. Upload the final version, including references and supplementary text.
  2. Use the Similarity Report to find uncited overlap, including with your own earlier papers.
  3. Rewrite or cite recycled passages, and upload again if you made major changes.
  4. Compare the AI Detection Report with your target journal’s or funder’s policy.
  5. Download both PDFs for your records within the 48-hour window.
